Using CO7 on iMac
Is there no FTP capability in this version??

If you mean whether you can FTP images to an FTP server (on the web), the answer is no. I do not recall to have seen such a feature in any version of Capture One, but perhaps I missed something. 0 -
Yea .... found it ok.....it was in CO4.
I would show it to you if I knew how to attach a screen dump to a post.

Interesting. You can post an image throuhg a link to it. You have to put it on the internet first of course.

In the Public Capture One 4 Pro section in sub-section P_002_Page_5 and towards the end of the video
you will clearly see that he shows/mentions the availability of an FTP function.

Looking at the controls that are covered up by the Local/FTP selection, it looks like there is a 'path' control and a 'type' control. Presumably, the selection being made in the image is the 'type'. As a Windows user, I can't ever recall seeing the 'type' control and it certainly isn't present on CO Pro 7 for Windows.

Thanks again. I use the iMac and Walter's tutorials were based on the Mac.
Yes he does use the local type in the video but specifically said that there were two ways available
to uploading the Web Contact Sheet........the other one being the FTP route.
Strange indeed. I would have thought that including the function in CO7 was no big deal but .......

I personally think that along with a simple FTP upload functionality, we should be able to upload directly to specific photography websites such as smugmug, etc. I have opened a ticket to submit this idea a few days back. 0 -
I looked into it a bit out of curiosity.
The FTP upload option of the Web Contact Sheet output has existed as a menu option up to CO 4.1.2 (April 2008) but was removed during 4.x development. It was a grey option, meaning that it was planned but not functional (my assessment).
Not a big deal actually for Mac users, as you can connect your Mac through Finder to any FTP source and have the path available for browsing locally. Short how-to: Finder > Cmd+K (or Go > Connect to Server) and fill in the path to server beginning with the protocol name ftp://
That said, coincidentally a blog appeared on the Phase One webside on publishing your Web Contact Sheet on the Internet through a file-based cloud service like Dropbox (OneDrive, Google Drive, you name it). Not exactly the same, but close. Check it out at:
