    Try closing the app, renaming the application file itself (e.g. to "Capture One 8") then relaunching.

    I've just renamed the app file to 'capture one 8' and it started right away.

    Glad to hear the workaround solves the issue. However the behavior suggests something isn't correct with your system as a whole. Perhaps a permissions repair or a New User Admin account can solve this to avoid any future issues.
