"Pack as EIP when capturing = fail... ?"
This is a new feature in Capture One 8. When "Pack as EIP when capturing" is checked in preferences, CO settings DO NOT follow the file when it is moved from the capture folder. If captures are unpacked and repacked, or if captures are saved as IIQ/NEF and repacked after capture, settings follow the file. It appears that .cos files are not packed in the EIP at capture anymore, can only be packed in the .eip subsequent to capture. In my environment, this has been the case with both Nikon and P45+ capture, in both Mavericks and Yosemite flavors of OS. Has anyone else observed this?

I'm sitting on set dealing with this issue at the moment. Pack as EIP on capture with a 5dmk 3, Mavericks and new Mac Pro. Even after re-applying style/settings, revisiting the folder clears the settings once again. 0 -
Currently on set seeing the same problem. Our workflow often includes moving EIP files from one session's capture folder to another and we loose all EIP data when transferring. I haven't tried unpacking and repacking before moving as I'm more efficiently able to copy and paste settings from session to session but this certainly is obnoxious.
I've also seen Capture One crash out and lose all EIP data for files that were active during the crash - that particular foible is rather more difficult to correct.0 -
Can you try to access the same files from a New Session? 0 -

Hi Drew,
Viewing the files (with EIP data intact OR those that have apparently lost EIP data from a crash) in another session does not render any of the EIP data (including ratings, color/exposure/crop/etc, metadata).
These issues with: OSX10.9, C1Pro8, Canon5Dii0 -
The problem seems to be that the .cos file is not getting wrapped into the EIP at the point of capture. Everything looks all right while the EIP is in the session folder, of course. It's only when you move the EIP from the session folder that the problem becomes apparent. To retain your adjustments, you have to pack (or repack) your image as an eip AFTER capture. Not a disaster, just one more step in the workflow. 0 -
Please create a support case (anyone finding this on this thread) and use the "File Packer" script in Capture One 8 to include your Logs. Please also add an EIP to this package when prompted so we can check the entire Manifest.
Thank you.

This behavior is the same in both flavors of CO 8. 0 -
I have the same problems. Local adjustment was reset once application was restarted. Color tag was missed out when files moved. Unpack and repack doesn't help. Any solution for that ? 0 -
This appears to be fixed in CO 8.02. 0
