Sessions
Do you always have to work in a session? Or is there a way to get into C1, pick a file and work on the photos from there? When ever I open C1 I'm asked to create a session. If I don't create a session and click cancel, all is gone. Just wondering.

CO6 always works with a session and by default it creates one (Capture One Library session) the first time it starts. However you can neglect the session concept by not creating new sessions, just browse to your folder with images and go. You technically still work in a session but are not aware of it, and that is okay. Many CO6 users work that way.
CO6 will open the session(s) you worked with the last time. If you closed all sessions before closing CO6, it will ask the next time you start the program which session to open. If you Cancel the dialog, CO6 will start without session, only showing a menu bar. Open a session from the File menu.
Note that closing the CO window (red dot top left in window) is closing the session. Try to close the program (Cmd+Q or from File menu) next time and CO6 will open as you left it. This will prevent the session request on opening and prevent confusion.0 -
Thank you Paul. By closing a session with command Q, that did the trick. I could then open the program from the icon in the Finder and go directly to the files. Appreciate your help.
