So What's with 4.6 Crashing and freezing

I'm using the demo on my Mac Pro. I've read the checklist of things to try but invariably, the program freezes. Sometimes it's when I am trying to process a picture. Sometimes when I switch directories. Ultimately, somewhere along the line Capture One 4.6 freezes on me and I have to 'force quit.'

I really like this program. I love what it does just when I hit 'auto' exposure. What a great starting point. I love the workflow and the various controls. The raw conversion is clearly superior over Adobe. I want to like this program but these lock ups which don't seem like they've been resolved since version 4.5 are a real bummer. I'm glad I'm using the demo before I switch from Lightroom.

I have a dual quad Mac Pro with 10GB memory. I don't want to have to configure my mac to use just 2gb, that's ridiculous. I don't want to empty caches, directories and so on. These are the reasons I left Windows in the first place.

If there's a solution I missed, from this forum, I hope someone will let me know. Otherwise, I will continue to play until my 30 day trial runs out.

    Just checking, are you running 4.6 or 4.6.1? In case of the latter, revert to 4.6.

    Full release number in the About Capture One screen:
    4.6 build 24882.24877 (4.6)
    4.6.1 build 25120.25076 (4.6.1)

    Thanks. I guess I can try that but does 4.6 support the Canon 5D Mark II?

    Yes. Please note that 4.6 may have problems with opening 4.6.1 made adjustments or previews (not tried yet myself).

    Thanks Paul. I downloaded version 4.6 and it does seem much more stable.
