Previews looking strange in 4.1

I think this is because they've incorporated sharpening into the preview image with 4.1. Play around with the sharpening amount and you'll see.

The drawback to this seems to be that with no sharpening applied, the preview images seem to look a bit softer than they used to. :/

When looking at my previews full screen, especially after doing an adjustment, the image seems to look really funny (little detail). Can't tell if it's a matter of a low resolution copy or what, but when I use the focus tool the image looks normal. Right before the focus tool comes into focus there is a lot of pixelating in the image, When I go back to full frame the image once again loses its detail. This is the first time I've encountered this with Capture 4. Anyone else see this before?

I didn't have the problem in 4.0.1, but I definately see it in 4.1 - the image either looks oversharpened or too coarse to be of any use ☹️
This is on a MacBook with the builtin 1280x800 display - hopefully this is one of the cases mentioned in the Rel. Notes, so it is being worked on, but it seems a bit strange if PhaseOne releases the software if this bug renders all the 1280x800 MacBooks practically useless for editing?
I'm not installing 4.1 on my 24" iMac until I'm positive the problem doesn't show up there as well, and I will have to reinstall 4.0.1 on the MB unless it can be fixed.
On the good side, 4.0.1 allready delivered amazingly good IQ for me in the developed images, so if just this GUI bug (and the non-passing of third-party applied EXIF/IPTC information "bug") could be fixed, I would be quite happy 😊

Actually here the previews look a lot better on a 24'' screen...so you may want to try it on your imac

Yeah, this is definitely not right, or at least I hope this is not what they have in mind. The preview is pretty worthless with this setup. I'm not sure what is different or what they were trying to do. Wish I didn't install 4.1 so quickly. I'm working on a 24" monitor.

Have you tried zooming the Viewer to 50%?
When using 100% or even 67%, things are ok'ish here (have to get used to the difference in sharpening if that is what it is), but at 50%, it is extremely coarse.

Usually I use both Fit and 100%. On the K10D files, fit is about 40% on my screen and they look fine. Didn't try with K20D files yet because I have them on a different hard drive. Could the file size (in megapixels) make a difference, since it's a sharpening issue?

When my preview first pops up it looks mostly okay, but when I apply adjustments from another image it immediately goes wacky. I'm not convinced it is a sharpening issue. If it is, it must be sharpening to something like 1000 because it is way overdone. That's at the "fit" view. At 100% focus it looks like it should.
