Profile vs. no profile values

This is Exactly the question in my mind when I decided to come online tonight and look for the answer in these forums. And it is Exactly the kind of question that drives me crazy, I have several other questions about how C1 Pro handles RAW files. Unfortunately, no one has responded to this one. Is it because the question is too basic......? Or too complicated......? Or no one cares.......?

    Any answers are appreciated, thanks!

I guess Phase are using some software to create the profiles which systematically remaps the grey axis in the same way. This is perfectly reasonable.

For example, the white Colorchecker square will be mapped to a certain "almost white", the black to "almost black", the greys to certain specific intermediate values. That way every profile generated by this software with the settings Phase are using has the same density gradation scale, and the look's density is homogenous whichever profile and camera you use.
