Sessions 3.7 > 4.5 ?

Is it possible or have anyone found a way to convert sessions from 3.7 to 4.5 if not this is something PhaseOne should make right now before anyone can seriously be using 4.5 or else all old work will be gone, makes no sense.

I hope there is a solution that I just haven't found it yet.

    No, there are two answers from them already, it doesn't work. I really think they HAVE to get a tool out to convert the 3.7 sessions to 4.5.

    This is highly ridiculous in my opinion. Every other RAW conversion Software can do this. Aperture, Lightroom ...

    That makes a ton of sense...having a software program which thousands of photographers relied on and spent money on along with their backs now are left hanging with the new release of 4.5 in regards to carrying over their workflow prior 4.5??? Why is there ALWAYS something that makes absolutely NO sense. You cannot shoot tethered with the Canon Mark III 1Ds with 3.7.8, 3.7.9, etc. Pixel corruption when processing out images with the Mark III, whatever. This is Phase's job to think about all of these things being a camera and software manufacturer, especially when the majority of people using their products are making their living with their cameras and software and spending good money to do so! Completely unacceptable again in my opinion and I know I am not alone in my thoughts as I have talked about this with other photographers as well who share my sentiment.

    I am a digital tech too in Chicago and work with many big shooters and what do you think is talked about when this comes up? Not good for Phase. This was the response that was sent to another tech in Chicago regarding this exact issue which has already become a problem and an issue.

    There is not yet a conversion tool for Capture One 3 settings to Capture One 4.
    It is beeing discussed and figured out of this is possible.We can not give you an answer for how and when more then it is currently not possible,.
    If the case is that you are getting session from client with 3.7.9 then we suggest you do post work on 3.7.9 as well to have the settings available.

    If the issue is not resolved, I think Phase One will lose the majority of its users to Lightroom or Aperture. It is beyond me that they would be greatly overdue with a highly anticipated and hyped product and then deliver something that is mediocre and apparently not thought out. Capture One Pro has been a critical part of my workflow for years and I've spent countless hours editing in the program. It annoys me that all that work may have to be redone. I work for a major magazine and we re-process and reuse images constantly relying on image adjustment history. Software updates should integrate and work seamlessly with previous versions, period. Capture One was at the top of my list of must-haves, but if this and other issues are not resolved they will definitely find themselves in the trash. I just don't know how we'll process our P45+, P25, P30 and H20 images.
    Phase One needs to step up to the plate and satisfy their customer base.
