Activation mess
Anyone else having issues with Phase1's activation process??
No joy getting the thing to even ATTEMPT to activate... as soon as I enter my key, the dialog box simply greys out the activate button. I've logged another support request. The first one went unanswered.
I have 1 activation left per the website. I just deactivated everything else (via the website) just in case, but still no joy.
I've been a loyal user since the 3.x days and am about to join the chorus of disillusioned 4.x users. At least I have another 30 days to resolve the issue, as I've just installed the 4.5.1 version for my Canon 50D.
Adobe Lightroom seems to be calling me.

So I figured out the problem...
As it happens the account page was prepending 3 additional characters to my license number. I simply copy and pasted this number in and the program took a non graceful path forward, by simply greying out the activate button.
Once I deleted the first 3 characters, everything worked as intended.
Sigh... Why can't they make this easier and more intuitive?

If I understand your post correctly (I apologize if I don't), you tried to copy/paste the license number from the web site (account page). Web sites are not plain text and have therefore formatting characters. Sometimes copying might work, sometimes not depending on the web application, browser and so on. No guarantee.
I keep record of product keys of all my licenses in plain text files and copy/paste from there. Works for me without hassle.0 -
Just so everyone that reads this understands....
If you go to the phase One user profile site and copy/paste the number then you will
need to strip the first 3 charaters....
If you go to the email that was sent to you when you bought the software and
cut/paste you will not have to strip the characters...
why Phase one does this is anyones guess... but it is a pain in the rear....0 -

Maybe if you have the opportunity to read my previous post in this thread, just right above yours, you might understand it has not necessarily so much to do with Phase One IMHO. You might have of course a different opinion.0
