Problem with Previews

For some reason I am unable to generate a preview in Media Pro. If I import an Expressions Media 2 catalog the previews I generated there come in and are available in Media Pro. But if I rebuild the images in Media Pro the previews go away and I cannot re-create them. Same with images imported directly. What an I doing wrong? System is Windows XP 32 bit.

Same issue with Vista 32 bit.

    From what I can see and my own experience if using the PhaseOne Rendering I cannot generate previews for any file format (including jpeg) for the "display previews at all times mode".

    If using the Windows Imaging Component for rendering images, I can generate previews for my jpeg and ORF Raw Files but not for Adobe DNG Raw files.

    Not a very happy situation at the moment I must say.

    I'm using PhaseOne rendering and I don't have the option of using Windows Imaging Component as Microsoft has taken down its WIC site so I can't get the proper WIC codecs. With Expressions Media 2 I can generate previews for any of my Nikon RAW files as well as my Leica M8.2 DNGs (as long as I convert them to Adobe DNg format).

    Sites are back up for both 32- and 64-bit versions. Just Google it with Bing (or Bing it with Google).

    You can use the codec from fastpictureviewer on 64bit Windows machines:

    It's only a few dollar.

    I downloaded and installed the Windows XP WIC system and the Nikon NEF codec. If I render using WIC I can generate previews for NEF, jpeg, and tif images, but not for either Leica or Adobe DNG. No thumbnails for DNGs as well.

    If I render using Phase One I get thumbnails for all images, but previews only for jpeg and tif.

    In Expressions Media 2 all images except for Leica DNGs produce previews. Operation appears to be the same whether using WIC or Manufacturer rendering.
