When can we set them and forget them?

I have a user default for my naming convention but have to keep going in each time and choose it specifically from the user defaults.

Also, on the metadata side, I need to put an image into the session before I can even set up a style that includes the basic metadata.

It would be nice to have some presets that would stick from session to session. And be able to set the rest BEFORE I start pulling images in.

Or, am I missing a check box somewhere?

  Does not exist. Best workaround is to create a template session and copy & rename that session each time.

  I do not understand this. Styles are not session dependent.

  I think I understand you when you say make a template session and dupe it for each new project. I will give it a try.
  
  Still, it would be really convenient to have those presets there. Or, at least have the last used presets as a standard.
