MediaPro Reader version and file locations
Which is most recent version of MediaPro Reader and what is the URL?
In the official archive at www.phaseone.com/en/Downloads/Software-Archive/Media-Pro-archive.aspx there is the version 1.1.0.52546. But somewhere else in the Internet (I do not remember where) I found the version 1.2.0.54251.
MediaPro (MP) and the free reader is really wonderful for families or multiple user. I can share my photo collections through the MP catalog with or without the original files. There are multiple and flexible options, where the catalog and original files can be located. When keeping the "original" drive letter constant (e.g. with network mounting or DOS SUBST command), the access to media files is also possible with the reader (and even drag&drop of files from the thumbnail view). That is very good for third party applications (e.g. powerpoint or other software). When the catalog is placed in the root of original file location, the drive letter is not relevant. This flexible behavior of the reader is just perfect.
BTW, the drag&drop of files from MP to other applications was for me one and THE dominant reason to leave Lightroom and use MP as DAM. I am using a professional software www.mobjects.com for multimedia shows and the drag&drop workflow of media objects/files from MediaPro is just perfect.

Why do you look in the archive if you want toe most recent version?
On the download side there's Media Pro Reader v. 1.2:

Hello Rainer,
thank you very much, I must have been blind and did not look for the software below the header DOCUMENTATION. The download of these files is quite inconvenient, because you need a lot of clicks and browser forward/backward navigation. That is why on other websites the link for MP Reader SW is more obvious.
On other websites you find often no information about version number. Examples- www.application-systems.co.uk/mediapro/downloads.html
- www.application-systems.de/mediapro/downloads.html
- www.iview-multimedia.com/reader
Meanwhile I know of course about the waved history of iview/MediaPro. But for new users this and the download situation is a little bit confusing.
