I have known folders seem to disappear from the catalog, and as you found can't add them because Capture One thinks they are there already. I can't exactly remember what has made them show up again, but you could try closing and opening the app, also Verifying the catalog.

Thank you for your suggestion Ian. I clicked on verify catalogue and it said that it failed. So I then clicked on repair, and it said that it had repaired it. But regretfully it hasn't solved the problem. I tried reopening the program but still my folders are gone. Is there anything else I can try? I am working on a surface pro 2018.

What if you just add the folder to the catalog again, without trying to import the contents? (I'm sorry I can't remember clearly what solved this for me.)

Ian! Thank you so much for your help!! 😄 😄 😄
That did the trick. It was not an enjoyable process - took me the best part of an hour to load all of my 2019 folders one at a time, but I have got them all back again now. In each case, as soon as I clicked on the folder it immediately filled up with its photos which had been there all along. Is this some sort of bug I wonder? I really hope this never happens to me - or anyone else - again.

    It must be, I think.
