Reaccessing a catalogue

Recently after a hardware malfunction requiring a replaced logic board when I try to open a catalogue in COPro7 it informs me that the catalogue cannot be opened as it is currently in use (by <my name>) and can only be opened when no others have it in use. Ie tried to copy and rename the catalogue but the renamed copy is likewise "in use". I cant recall if the catalogue was open when the hardware failed, but other catalogues can still be used. Is there a way to access this catalogue or need I start again with it? (PS I didnt need to nor did I try reinstalling software, no memory was changed, disks changed, and the catalogue was on an external hard drive). Thanks for any ideas
