Sure. But why don't you purchase it direct from Phase One ?

Thanks, because I have a gift certificate from B&H. I was going to go with the Pro 9 but found out it doesn't support my Sony RX100 V...I'm not to smart when it comes to photo editing software but I think it's important to have software that supports your camera...Correct

    Mmmh... If Pro 9.3 doesn't support RX100 V, then Pro 9.3 for Sony won't support it either : https://www.phaseone.com/fr-FR/Products ... meras.aspx

It supports all four first versions of the RX100, but not yet the new fifth model.

How long does it usually take for them to get onboard with a new camera? Is it neccessary to have your camera supported or will it still perform the way it should ?

They don't provide ETAs, so who knows…

If your camera is not listed, then Capture One won't be able to import and edit its RAW files, period.

BTW support is also pending for the A6500 and the A99II.
There are reports of users who have (successfully) modified the EXIF data of A99II files to A7R2 files (same sensor) so they're able to work on the RAW files. I've no clue if RX100V data is different from RX100IV but it may be worth a try to make C1 "think" it's working on files of the previous version - at least until the V is supported.

and how would you modified the EXIF data?

No expert on this here but from what I've seen one may be EXIFTOOL or EXIFTOOLS. Probably there're others.

You have to check though which fields need to be changed.

    This is true enough.

However for a likely popular camera using mainstream technology Capture One and other editors will typically have it supported within a few weeks of the first users taking delivery. Occasionally they might be ready and ahead of the game having support before the camera escapes into the world - but that is rare.

How many weeks will sort of depend on several factors including the product update release strategy and the timing of events in the marketplace.

Given the commercial relationship with Sony I think one could reasonably speculate that C1 will support new Sony cameras and will do so as soon as possible and convenient (from a release perspective) after the cameras reach the users.

I would guess that the final testing and tweaking work is carried out on released productions samples rather than pre-production. That likely means that in most cases the RAW converter providers (not just Capture One) only obtain their cameras samples at about the same time and the early adopters who have pre-ordered the devices.

It is rare, but not entirely unknown, for support for a new camera (by any of the RAW converter software providers) to drag out longer than 2 to 3 months always providing that the technology the camera uses is not radically different to what has gone before.

    HTH.
