Collection Buttons are grayed

Canon 1Ds tethered shooter just installed 3.7. When I make a capture, all appears well, but the Add/Delete collection buttons are grayed until I select another collection, often the trash.

If this is a new feature, what's the idea?

    I see the same even though I'm not running tethered.
    It happens when I use the folder browser and open a folder with raw files for which there are no previews, and then close the folder browser before all previews are created.
    To enable tthe buttons I can either do as you say and select another collection, or open and close the folder browser.
    I'm using 3.7Pro.
