Can "Copy from items with same name" be made to work?
Media Pro includes a script called "Copy from items with same name". Its stated purpose is to copy annotations from one file to another with the same name but a different suffix, so for instance a file named "IMG_1177.JPG" would have all its annotations automatically copied to Media Pro's record of a file named "IMG_1177.CR2".
This works for pairs of files, but the little documentation that exists suggests that you should be able to select all the files in a Media Pro catalogue and have the annotations copied from every file in the catalogue to its respective twin. Am I mis-reading the capabilities of this script? Has anyone succeeded in making it operate in this way?
Thank you for your help.
David

Is it so difficult to try?
There is no risk as long as you not save the catalog and does not sync in files.0 -
That I have tried copying annotations across multiple pairs of files and not achieved what I was looking for seems implicit in the request for remedial ideas. I tried, nothing happened.
Moving right along, what I have so far discovered is that:
- it copies from the first image in the catalogue, pastes to the second, so if you have a catalogue that is in alphabetical order, which places "IMG_1177.CR2", with no annotations, before "IMG_1177.JPG", which has annotations, you will get two image files with no annotations. Not helpful. To get two files with annotations in this situation, you must invert the sort order.
- if you select more than one pair of images, the first pair have the annotations copied, while the remainder remain unchanged. I wouldn't mind this if the script could be assigned a key command, but I can't figure out how to do this.
- if you go back to the last version of IVMP (a copy of which resides on my old PPC laptop, retained as a music server), you get the same result as with the current Media Pro, so the function has never been particularly useful.
- a fellow named Beardsworth has published a script that performs the desired function, but it's PC-based, not Mac, and so no help.
Any other thoughts?

Of course, the script is buggy.
I am the author of this script, I had offered it to iView, Microsoft has tinkered, P1 has not verified.
Try this one:

Preferably select items with annotations sources.
Select all works also.
PS: Mister P1, don't be autistic, tell if you want help 🙄0 -
Formidable. Works like a charm. Thank you very much.
Is iView OnLine your site?

I would love to have a copy of this script (it is no more on dl.free.fr).

On my Win 7 machine with EM2 the original script does only work for small sets of images so i wanted to try this one. However, it seems to be only compatible with Mac?

Sorry, it is Mac only 😕 0 -
Ok, thanks.
EM does work on my macbook pro (maverick) neither...
