    Hi Tobin,

Can you kindly provide details about your computer system, including OS version, and digital back?

Has the capture rate changed at all?

I am experiencing the same thing, slow thumbnails and previews. Perhaps it is a result of the higher res preview, but I'd like the option of choosing a screen res preview to speed through editing the take, and tagging selects.

    I'm running a single processor G-4, 10.3.6, 1 gig ram. 3.6 SE

I'm experiencing the same molass slow thing in version 3.6. I'm using G5 Mac and a minimum of 2GB of RAM. Problem comes from the \"new\" large preview files. If I'm using the \"small\" preview files created with version 3.5.2, everything is speedy and I can make live adjustments of WP/BP, levels, White Balance etc... With the new large previews, it takes 1-3 seconds to load and to see the result of modifications. All that with 1DMk2 and 1Ds (not Mk2) files.

I'll keep using 3.5.2 until a solution comes. Loosing 10 seconds per file when you have 300-500 files to process is not acceptable for me.

    states the following:

You are absolutely right. The reason and background for that change is that a lot of our customers have made feature requests because they wanted better zoom options in the preview area, and this caused the preview file to be larger. Of course the increase from 3-4 MB to 12-14 MB is a bit too large, and we are planning to decrease the size in a future maintaince release of version 3.6.

This will bring my powerbook 1.5 ghz with 2 gig of ram to it's knees.

Will someone at Phase one please repost a link to download Ver 2.5.2 please !!!!

I was fully aware of this "enhancement" but I'd like to have the choice. Explaining why it's so slow does not buy me additional time! Dealing with 300+ photos and having this 1-2 seconds delay is a killer for me and I'm using a G5 computer. I can only feel the pain for a PowerBook based workflow ☹️
We should have a global setting for that or - even better - one setting per session. This would give us the choice between high quality "zoomability" or speed. Sometimes I can afford the lag, sometimes not...
