Refreshing IPTC info

    Rick,

The program that seems to place the IPTC info in the right areas for Capture One to read it or pass it through is Photo Mechanic. It also has options to do sidecar files and XML...designed for photojournalists who have come to rely on IPTC. There is drag and drop interoperability with iView pro...in other words, when you have a "contact sheet" open in photo mechanic you can drag and drop the images on an iView session or database and all the information instantly appears in iView without the waiting for the images to load or wait for the progress bar....very slick.

(Also, I forgot to ask, are you using the LE version? Because I think the LE version does not support the XML or sidecar files)

    Best

    Todd,

Thanks for the reply. I have heard nothing but good things about Photo Mechanic but have been avoiding it because I already had iView. I will check it out.

    Hey there,
Like the initial poster, I too use iView Media Pro/Microsoft Expression to annotate my files. While what's been offered sounds like it would work to transfer the caption info, I have no interest in buying more software if I don't have to. PS CS3 recognizes the annotations from Microsoft Expression when in RAW and then the processed jpeg--why doesn't Capture? Buying more software is NOT the solution I"m personally looking for.
