Capture One Raw v 3.6 for Windows will support *istD when it is released. It is expected out towards the end of this month.

Oops-- I realize you are asking about the *1DS, not the D version.

I do not know the answer to that question. That's what I get for working late and past my already meager mental capacity.

I'll found out if it we support it in the upcoming release.

    Thanks for looking into this!

BTW, I read that settings like white balance and so are not applied on the image by the camera, but that the are stored in the image (not clear to me whether part of the EXIF or in other format). What does C1 typically do with this kind of information, retain it and allows applying it as default processing, or ignore it which would mean the photographer needs to set the white balance in C1. If the latter case that would mean shooting a neutral grey card before every series to make sure you get the white balance. Manual white balance settings in the camera would have no point. These do the same basically (ie get white balance setting from a neutral grey shot), but do not require the storage space that a test/calibration shot would.

or am I missing sth here?

    thanks! Wim

Capture One Raw, (did I mention we have changed the name from C1?), will read and base image rendering on the WB info from the EXIF.

It is not necessary to shoot a gray card although it is good idea to do so if you have the luxury of time to do so and neutral rendering is your aim.

Thanks!! That confirms Capture One looks like the tool I need. Now if only it would support my Pentax *istDS... Any news on that?

I know at Adobe they're working on it, but though I love Photoshop, it does not compare to the batch facilities Capture One offers...

Thanks in advance for further feedback!!

    Wim,

It took a little while to find out only this--
It's on the \"roadmap\" for future support but not before at least the spring release.

Hope you can hold on. have a great weekend.

Any more news on the support of the Pentax *ist DS? I just read that support for the Olympus E-300 is officially announced. No mention of the Pentax however... Is there any reason for this? If you require RAW files from the Pentax or so, please let me know. I will be happy to oblige...

    Thanks! Wim
