Rawzor Support?
Hello,
I stumbled upon this website where you can find a nifty tool to compress your raw files in a lossless manner. I tried with my Olympus ORF files and indeed, the compression is pretty impressive (better than DNG). Unlike DNG, upon decompression, it returns a bitperfect copy of the original raw file. With the provided SDK, I'm pretty sure it would be quite easy to incorporate it into C1. What do the devs say? The space saving benefits are clearly there.

Takeshi

Takeshi,
I would be weary of any third party compression. These are, after all, your RAW files with no possible substitutes. I even find "ZIP" a bit too unpredictable to use with mine.
That said, I'm not speaking ill of this particular software as I am wholly unfamiliar with it. However we are unlikely to adapt or suggest the use of something with such limited history. If you are thinking about using it in your everyday workflow I would recommend that you also backup with a more practiced compression method until this algorithm can be shown to be both stable and lossless (as advertised).0 -
Fair enough. Before migrating to this compression format, I'll make sure it's absolutely lossless. As for traditional compression formats, they come nowhere near rawzor, that's the reason I find it so attractive. My two cents 😊 0
