You could create a new session, then in the folders tab, just navigate to where you keep the originals in your catalog.
Or you could create a session and import all the files from your catalog.
As far as a straight up conversion, I would think not.

However, a session will not behave much differently than a catalog, so its sort of pointless.

I'm curious as to why you would want to do it? I have my suspicions, but i'd like to know.

i work in sessions but by accident created a new catalog instead of session....it's really no big deal but i would prefer to have the actual folder structure on my HD.....unfortunately catalogs don't really work for me (limit on size and slow speed)...keeping organized sessions actually works ok for me....

Well, you confirmed my suspicions 😂

I would create a new session and just import the originals from the catalog you are talking about. Make sure you have the "include existing Adjustments" ticked.

I started using sessions for any editing, then transferring the images to my catalog. Once in the catalog, I then create an album in the catalog for that particular shoot. That way, its much snappier if I need to revisit the shoot.

For instance, I have a group called "Weddings". Within that group, I have albums named after each wedding shoot. So if I need to look at the "Smith" wedding a year from now, its easy to find. On top of that, when working from an album, C1 catalog is as fast as it is in a session.
The only downside is that we still aren't able to delete a file from within an album. We can only remove it.
