CO Pro needs conversion to Smart Objects

In some ways this feature already exists... As long as your smart object is a Tiff or Jpeg. Just make the edits in Capture One to the Raw file, re-process and replace the old Tiff with the edited one. To do this on a Raw level is not really possible because Photoshop is using ACR as a Raw engine. Basically for it to work Adobe actually has to implement support for Capture One adjustments and that would not only be a rather large task for them, but also very likely outside of their marketing scope as well.

I had assumed that considerable obstacles exist to the implementation of this feature. I have also had to adopt in the past the time-consuming, fastidious process that you point out, which to my mind does not provide the ease of use and fluency of the raw-converter- to smart-object-to raw converter (and back) that is available in ACR-Photoshop, which I regret. Thank you for your reply, none the less, although it does not bear encouraging news.
