How to move some images to a different catalog?
I have a subset of images (originals with their variants) in a C10 catalog. I'd like to export all of that and add them to a different C10 catalog. With Aperture I could export the set to a new catalog and then import that catalog into a different catalog. I can see there is a provision for doing the second step but I can't figure out how to do the first step. I can export originals or I can export variants. How do I keep them mapped together?

Exporting originals just means exporting the original raw files with no adjustments. Exporting variants means exporting them with all the stuff you have done to them.

I understand the meaning of the 2 exports. What I was hoping for was an Aperture-like ability to move originals with their adjustments from one catalog to another. Withe Aperture that was a simple 2 step process: export the selected images to a new catalog then import that new catalog into a different catalog. I am not finding a way to do this with Capture One Pro 10. 0 -
- put the pictures I an album
- right click album and choose "export as catalog..."
- import the newly created catalog into the different catalog
Pretty much the same as in Aperture.

Thank you Johannes, that was the step I was missing and I could not find in the C1 documentation looking at export. I appreciate your help! 0 -
I use the steps suggested above. I wish there was a method for transferring images directly form on catalog to another. I have suggested this in the past, but it may be hard to do. 0
