Auto Folder Update not working

Since I'm a relatively new MP user I could be missing something but it seems like the functionality just doesnt work. I've tried right clicking folders to activate as well as using the menu ... and nothing .... rebooted, restarted the program and still no update.

Am I missing something? Any suggestions?

Additionally, is 5 min really supposed to be the longest update interval? If the suggested work flow is to use COne and the use MP for asset management why why would anyone need MP update so often?

  I agree. I don't use "auto update". I just go to the folder I'm using and "Update Folder Now" when I'm ready. It works well when I have a smaller MP catalog that I use to drive my CO sessions.

  If I'm importing images, from a number of different cards, I'll switch auto update on, but most of the time I'll just be patient..I can be patient, I can be COME ON! 😊
  
  As for why so often...let's go back to a time before Capture1, when media pro was iView.....I suspect the auto update was there for shooting feathered, images pop into a folder, client/tech can see images as they arrive and start sorting them.
  
  I also use it if I'm sorting images in finder, leave MP running, start sorting images and MP plays catch up.
  
  Having said all that most of the time I just update folder now though 😊
