Catalog export/import issue over several machines
Hi everybody,
I'm extensively testing C1 since several weeks. I've been reading a lot of articles and this forum, watching also a lot of the tutorials and webinars. I still experience a big issue. Maybe I missed something. So thanks for your help. I'll try to explain it briefly and accurately.
I have a mobile computer (Mac) with a "mobile catalog" M1 and a fixed one at home (PC) with his own catalog M2.
All my pictures are referenced by the catalogs.
When I'm on the go I edit (rate/label) and process pics. Back at home I want to sync my work on my main computer.
Step 1 : export from M1 a folder as a catalog F1, including the originals.
Step 2 : import F1 into M2
Step 3 : In M2, move the imported pics in a folder created in Capture One
So far, so good. All processing settings were correctly transferred.
Step 4 : in M1, update the processing of the pics and export the same folder as a catalog F2, NOT including originals.
Step 5 : import F2 into M2 (using the imported variants)
So far, so good. All processing settings were correctly transferred.
Step 6 : in M1, rate and apply color labels to pics, then export the same folder as a catalog F3, NOT including originals.
Step 7 : import F3 into M2 (using the imported variants)
Now there are issues :
. Pictures are NOT processed correctly the same as in catalog M1
. Ratings and color labels are not the the same as in catalog M1
I tried a lot of times with different ratings/colors and processing settings. I can not see a specific pattern.
I tried also the same steps having the catalogs M1 and M2 on my mobile computer (Mac). In that case the processing settings are correctly applied but the ratings/labels are not.
My steps, seems to me, like a simple way to transfer my work on the go to my main computer.
Maybe I'm not doing it the "Capture One" way.

No. None of my process recipes has "ratings and color tag" selected.
How this setting of a specific process recipe would be related to the export of a folder as a catalog ?0
