Mac OS X.5.6 tether speed VERY fast
I updated 1 of my 3 Macs to X.5.6 and when shoot tethered USB w/Canon 1Ds Mark III
the speed is VERY welcome.
I started the timer after the 1st shot in a 12 frame burst, shooting Full size raw not sRAW.
This was on my MacBook (test Mule computer) to took 24 sec for the C1 pro download progress bar to finish.
Then going over to my 2.8 GHZ Intel core 2 duo (OS X .5.5), I ran the same test to took 1 min 4 sec.
I'm glad to see the OS X.5.6 update did yield faster USB 2 Performance, and also glad that C1 Pro still shoots tethered with it.
Canon EOS Capture 20 sec on X.5.6 vs 60 sec on X.5.5
Computer stats are as follows:
MAcBook 2 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo, os X.5.6, Black, 4 Gig RAM 200 GigHD , 50% full.
Aluminum 24in iMac, 2.8 GHZ Intel core 2 duo (OS X .5.5) 4 Gig Ram 750 Gig HD.
I'll continue testing the new Mac OS update on the mule computer, just to make sure ALL of my application that make me money work. If all goes well by Jan . I'll update the other 2 Mac to 10.5.6.
ps Phase One any word on when the next version will be released, I'm forced to use my new 5D Mark II with Adobe Lightroom 2.2
