Epson R-D1s and monochrome
I have an Epson R-D1s and find that the generic colour profile gives good results. However, one of the attractions of the R-D1s is that it can also produce very attractive monochrome images. Is there any way in which Capture One can present Epson monochrome raw files with the same rendering as the camera can? For these images it would help to have a monochrome workflow from end to end without being distracted by colour.

Tim,
You should test this and check results to compare.
Choices at Color Management Settings, Destination profiles are":
►Phase One Gray Profile 1.8
►Phase One Gray Profile 2.2
These are true Grayscale profiles.
With version 3.7.4 + New RGB camera profiles are available of:
►Phase One Effects - B&W
►Phase One Effects - B&W Panchromatic
►Phase One Effects - B&W Yellow Filter
►Phase One Effects - Sepia
►Phase One Effects - Bluetone
►Phase One Effects - Color Vue
If you have the PRO version, you may make adjustments to any of these using the Color Editor and Save as a edited or custom Profile to choose from.

Following the recommendation by Sean Read, I downloaded the B&W Toolkit for Capture One by JFI Color Labs (http://jfilabs.com/). Their BW profiles make it very easy to handle files in monochrome and the results are excellent. Not bad for $15.95 USD.

I have just got my C1LE with my first proper digital camera. As a primarily B&W shooter my preference is B&W output . I have read recommendations for JFI B&W profiles and I have downloaded them. I have installed them on my Mac according to the instructions from JFI but don't know where to find them (or how to use them) in C1LE. DO I need to have c1 pro for these profiles?

vedran,
Yes, the Phase One Effects profiles load with the PRO version only.
Review the Knowledge Base article # 1788 and see the link at bottom to an excellent article by Uwe Steinmueller

I am sorry Veran but you seem to have some serious confusion. These are
not Phase One Effects profiles. These are industry standard icc
profiles and the instructions for their use is in the Capture One
documentation under "Color Management" As I suggested in the previous
email please contact Capture One customer support if you need futher
assistance on the use of icc profile in Capture One that may need
further clarification. ICC profiles work exactly the same in Pro, LE,
Mac and PC.

Meanwhile I am doing following :
Preferences>Color Management > For camera > Use
profile by default > (I have chosen one of JFI B&W profiles ) and file is converted into BW;
