can't open raw files from other apps in CO8
Hi,
I'm a licensed user of CO7, and trying CO8 before upgrading.
I can't open Lightroom raw files in CO8 through OpenDirectly : nothing happens.
Same thing if I try to modify a picture from LR into CO8 ('modify in') : a Tiff file is created in LR, but won't open in CO8.
I can't do it either from PhotoMechanic (> Edit in..).
Nor from the finder (> Open with).
CO won't open, or if CO is already open, nothing happens
But the drag and drop from the finder to CO works.
What did I miss ?
I use a MacBook Pro, OSX 10.9.5.
I trashed and reinstalled CO8, repaired permissions..
Any idea someone ?
Thanks !

Are you running the trial in Pro mode, i think this is necessary.
Catalog or session? It seems CO needs to be in Session mode for this kind of workflow.
Have you enabled Edit Tiff in the preferences?0 -
Thanks,
I just checked or tried all that you suggested : pro version, session mode, tiff editing enabled...
Unfortunatly, I have no other option to look for the folder where the picture is, and then import the whole folder. Which is not what I want to do..
What I would like is open one or several selected raw files directly from LR or PhotoMechanic, and save them after editing in the same folder.
Like when I edit a file from within LR with Photoshop or DXO.

Create a new session and then close CO.
After that, "send" the raw file to CO again. It may be that the session you currently have is bad.
Another thing that i have found, is that you need to send at least 2 images, otherwise you end up in the directory tree, not in the queue of work sent from your external application.0 -
Thanks,
I tried what you suggested : unfortunately didn't work either..0 -

Did you also try with sending 2 images at the same time?
If that doesn't work, i don't know. You should then create a support case to have Phase One help you.0 -
Yes, I sent several images.. It happened once that a message prompted saying 'a CO license is already in use'. Don't understand why.
Thanks for your suggestions !

I am also a heavy user of OpenDirectly and it works on my MacBook with CO 8 like a charm. OS X 10.10.1, Capture One 8.1, Lightroom 5.7.1. Also not able to reproduce the Open in or Edit with issues, simply works on my configuration. As a result I would guess it is not a problem in general but might have something to do with your installation or configuration. I would suggest opening a Support Case, maybe there is just a small thing which can be corrected with small effort.
Kind regards,

OK, thanks, I opened a support Case.
Happy new year to all !0
