Does CO7 recognise the CR2 files?

Haven't tried connecting with wires using CO7 yet.
Works great with utility and also wft

For Mac there is a workaround, see the sticky thread on top off the Mac forum. How did you connect, through USB (as opposed to Ethernet)?

Cr2 files are fine it just won't recognize that the camera is connected on either platform. No time for the workaround this morning so I will have to try that later this week. Does anyone know if they are working on this problem? Release notes show tethered support for the 1Dx but obviously, that is not the case.

Any update on tethered shooting with the 1Dx becoming available?

    Thanks,

Have you tried with 7.0.1? Same, better (or worse)?

7.0.1 still shows "no camera attached"

I know if I use mraw or sraw I can't see my images, but the full raw not a problem...

I don't have any problems with editing the files from the 1DX, it's just tethered shooting with Windows 8. I am able to shoot tethered on a MBP so all is well for the time being!

Have you created a support case? Maybe it is the combination with Windows 8.

I have not created a support case because I am pretty sure it has to do with the newer camera body and the newer OS like what is happening with Macs. I was able to get my MacBook pro working so I am ok for now. I figure they will get this resolved at some point because there are going to be a lot of 1Dx/Win8 users that need tethered shooting in the near future! Not sure how creating a support case will speed that along since they must be aware of this issue.

A support case either raises the awareness of the issue and/or gives you a straight answer if/when new information is available (setting, known incompatibility, something like that).
