Can't find process recipes tool
I've been using Capture One 4.x for quite some time. Today for the first time I got a message that no recipes were defined.
I can't remember even dealing with recipes. I was so stumped that I closed that selection. Now I can't process at all. So obviously I need to get that process recipes tab back under the Output tool.
I have done my usual choices in the Process Recipe tab and Output Naming. But the process summary is empty.
So how do I get Process Recipes back and what do I have to do to "provide" something to keep that tab happy?

Right-click in the tool tab and select the tool you accidently closed. Check if one process recipe is checked. 0 -
I have the Process Recipes choice back. I have Untitled Recipe showing and it's checked. Process Summary is still blank. What do I need to do next?

In the header of the Process Summary tool, there is a triangle at the left. Clicking on it to collapse/expand the tool. Maybe it is collapsed and need expanding?
Tip: in case one of your tool gets messed up in the future, go to Windows menu, Workspace, Default to reset your workspace.0 -
Ok I have a process recipe checked.
The Process Summary is still blank and nothing begins to process.
Is shift-process still the command to begin a batch process?0 -
To process multiple selected images at once (batch process), CO 4.x initially provided the shift-key modifier to distinct between the primary selected only and all selected. After CO 4.5 or 4.6 (not sure but not that important) the shift-key modifier function was dropped in favor of a new function with a toggle key and button: Edit Primary Only (Edit menu). Switch it off to apply an action to the entire selection.
I suggest to check the latest tool tab (Batch) to check whether there is a queue waiting and/or whether the queue has started (button below).
Are you able to process a single image? Which version of CO4 are you running?0 -
I am running Vista 64-bit version. I am running 4.8.2 CO.
I cannot process even a single file and there is nothing in the batch queue.
I repeat that the Process Summary window is empty.
While it's a secondary issue, I don't seem to be able to toggle Edit Primary Only. In the edit menu, does the wording change from Edit Primary Only to something else to show that I am going to edit a selection, rather than one file?

When toggled ON it gets a check mark in front of the command in the Edit menu and the button on the toolbar (rectangle with "1") becomes colored orange.
It seems something got stuck preventing you from processing. Best to reinstall CO 4.8.2 according to the instructions from the Phase One site:

The instructions in the link you supplied say to "delete" Capture One. Is that the correct word, or should I "uninstall" Capture One? 0 -
I have a deadline, so I went ahead and uninstalled CO 4.8.2. I then reinstalled it.
I cannot process any files, whether it's just one or a batch.
Can I reinstall an earlier version just so I can do business while I try to figure out what's wrong? If so, how?
This is getting very serious and scary.

I reinstalled 4.6.2 and it works fine. God knows what activations I can use, but at least for now I have a conversion that works.

When you have time to read the instructions again, you will see that you first uninstall Capture One 4 and next delete some additional Capture One folders which are not removed by the uninstall procedure.0 -
Before running the uninstall procedure, open C1 and go to Help/Licence activation, select Deactivate. Then close C1 and run the uninstall procedure. This ensures that you retain your activation rights. 0 -
Thanks Paul for your help and patience. I now have 4.8.2 up and running.
On one other issue, a full-frame 35mm image has dimensions of 5x7.5. So far I can't find any way to have the cropping tool conform to that ratio. I get a message that CO only conforms to whole integers. Am I missing some way to crop as 5x7.5?

If you want to use that aspect ratio, just use whole numbers, i.e. 10x15. Aspect ratios are independent of file size. [quote="Vaughn" wrote:
