so i have to make a new layer for each part of the image i want to heal? the way it works now, i can’t really take out longer objects, i usually run into issues....even a single street sign might require one source point for the lower half of the post, one for the top and one for the actual sign....so that is 3 layers right there?

If you want to do extensive healing of that kind, it is often best to use something like Photoshop, or Affinity Photo. Sometimes it works with Capture One, but it is not really a pixel editor in the same way as PS or AP. I usually have a go with small things in C1, but for larger things, better to use a tool made for that kind of job.

makes no sense to me....the tool is very useful, it provides really good results, i much prefer to get some of these things done in raw, once and done....LR is such a breeze, i don't see the a reason why there is no "option" click for a new source point.....

Maybe it's a feature to ask for in a feature request. And who knows what the next version may bring?
