DNG Thumbnail and Preview Issues
Hey guys,
I did a search but couldn't find what I was looking for. I'm on a Mac Pro running OS X 10.8.2 and I have both Expression Media 2.0.2 and Media Pro 1.2 and whenever I import DNG files I seem to have issues. The first issue is that I can never get the thumbnails to render in the larger size; doesn't matter if I use the Apple render engine or the Phase One. The second issue is when I view the preview, if I used the Apple render engine, the preview is really tiny and, if I used the the Phase One render engine, the preview is full size but almost all of the detail from the photo is gone. It almost looks like a flattened comic version of the shot.
I know with DNG's the preview is part of the file but I've tried all different combinations of the different render engines and using the embedded preview or not and I still can't get it. I'm hoping someone can shed some light on this for me since it seems very strange that neither of these apps would support DNG's properly.
Thanks!!

Wich version of DNG converter did u use to create these DNG's?
Did you try to generate them again (from your present DNG to a DNG with the latest DNG converter). One of the options is how large the preview must be, change this to maximum.

Ironically Capture One created DNGs do not render well in Media Pro and you have to use the Phase One rendering. If you're creating DNGs in an Adobe app using the latest DNG specs:
* Do Embed Full Size JPEG Preview
* Don't use Embed Fast Load Data
* Don't Use Lossy Compression
These DNGs can produce as good quality as the original raw files when editing in Capture One.
