Sending images from external application

Unless I am missing something, this is not possible with Capture One and in particular not possible when working with catalogs. With catalogs, you have to import an image first through CO's import feature.

Functionality as described are based on starting an application with an optional file to open, like you can with Photoshop. Maybe it works with sessions, but not catalogs.

    Hi Paul,

    thanks for your answer.

I tried around a bit and it's possible to send an image from an external application with a session. But if more images are sent, only the last one will be selected. C1 has no inbox like other converters where multiple files can be stored. So I tried MediaPro and it's possible to send over a bunch of files while working with a session, just what I searched for. And again, it is not possible with C1 catalogs. It seems for me that catalogs are best used on their own and sessions together with MediaPro.

Things to try out when working with a session in COP7:

    - Set up the external application to call COP7 with an image,

    or try this:

    - Drag and drop an image from the external application onto the viewer in COP7

The latter method might work if the first one doesn't, and vice versa.

    As for catalogs:

The assumption is that this won't work. While this seems indeed to be the case, I have made an observation worth mentioning:

    - Drag and drop an image onto the viewer, and the importer opens offering to import the image into the catalog.

Wouldn't it be nice if in this situation COP7 checked the catalog, and upon finding the image to be present then opened it for editing? That the importer opens upon drag-and-drop seems to be a strong indication that it would take very little programming effort to implement this.

    Cheers, Mogens
