Reset paths...
First off, my problem: I have my catalog and images on an external hard drive that moves around a lot to different computers at work and home. The drive letter of the hard drive often changes so that the catalog can no longer find my images.
I assumed that if I selected all of the files and used Find -> Reset Paths... and select the correct folder on the hard drive, it would use that path for my files. It did not work however, nothing changed. Am I using this function incorrectly? Is there another, easier way to fix this?

The most easy way is to be sure to have all your photo's in one single 'toplevel' folder. Then you have only to reset the path to this folder each time the driveletter changes:
Rightclick the folder and choose 'reset path', then navigate to the 'toplevel' folder and your done.
Maybe a better solution is to implementate a NAS wich can be approached via the network?

Unfortunately NAS is not an option.
I do just as you say, but when I choose a folder, the window closes... and nothing happens.
Any ideas what I might be doing wrong?0 -
I have also tried rebuilding the files (ctrl + b) and using the "Transfer to Folder..." command, but to no effect. Nothing works, nothing does anything at all. Can someone please give me some advice or something to try? 0
