I don't believe MP has a function for this.
Maybe you could write a script for this but i would not know how..

However, it's not that hard to get what you want:

    1st option
When you found the image (in thumbnailview), you can see the locationpath at the top.
Then you can easily navigate to the (catalog) folder when youre in Organize view:
    https://dl.dropbox.com/u/25580003/EMlocation1.JPG

    2nd option
When you found the image (in thumbnailview), switch over to list view and click "path name" in menu bar. Now, all images in the same folder are grouped together:

What Roelof said in option 1.

    1. Make your selection.
    2. Select the one file you need (see the path in the top message bar).
    3. Browse through the folder list, the file's folder is coloured.
    4. Select the folder.
    5. Click on Thumbnail or List tab and then move arrow key. The screen will jump to your selected image so you can see where you were left.

Not sure whether this is what you were looking for.

    Thanks for the help.

Unfortunately it works not so well. The folder is marked indeed, but only the very subfolder, not the parent folders.
So this way its nearly impossible to find a subfolder if there is a folder hierarchy.

Could you explain where this is marked? I don't understand quite well.

But with the 'breadcrumb' trail in my first screenshot it is easy to browse to the right folder, isn't it?

Hey rmoorlag. Yes, of course it makes it easier, but still time-consuming if I do it very often. Its not a good workflow.
It works perfect and quick to jump into the adjacent finder folder, but not inside of MP.

@HCS: In the catalogue folder you can find root folders and subfolders, right?
If the folder that you are searching for is on one of the lower levels of the folders hierarchy, you can only guess, which root folder is the one containing the folder you search for, because the root folder is not marked. You have to click your way through the hierarchy to finally find your folder somewhere on the maybe 3rd or 4th level and then it is marked indeed.

not sure if I understand right, but if so, then I suggest the following:

Lets say we look for an image that is similar to the one we just found using the rating. So I have all images on display that are rated 3 stars or better. I select the image I like - the one where I know I have more of, but they not showing at present, as I have the catalog set to only show star rated images of three or more.

I now simply choose Show all, whilst that one image I like is still selected, and then do a sort by Capture date. That way I see all the other images that were not rated, but are from the same scene.

    Hope this helps somewhat.
