Any way to open 9 version catalog in 8 version

I accidentally opened up my backup catalog from 2014 year in C9, and clicked update.
Is any way to allow it opened in 8?

    Can you restore the previous version from a backup - time machine, or similar?

    Open the Catalog Package. Inside the package there is a back-up file with the existing v8 catalog. rename it, and you are good to go in v8 again.
