Working on single images without catalog
Hi!
Sometimes I just want to work on single images (my main catalog and viewing tool is Lightroom).
Till Capture One 8 (CO8) I have dragged a single image to CO8 (like I do it with every program in
this world on Mac and Windows, did my corrections, and exported it.
Since CO8 I'm not able to drag a picture (f. e.) from the Desktop to the CO8-Icon in the Mac OS X Dock.
It will not open! But I don't want to import all my pictures to CO8.
Is CO8 the first program in the world which is not accepting dragged images? Is it a try to force me
to use CO8 for every single action (catalog, viewing...).
Or is there a "switch" which I couldn't find?

As far as I can remember, its always behaved like this.
You may have been dragging the photo into C1 and it opened a default session. But as far as it acting like Photoshop or Capture NX2, no. You have to either have a session or catalog going.
Create a session. Name it "singles"
Have that session point to a folder on your desktop. I'd call the folder "single edits".
Drag the single edits into that folder. Problem solved.
It may not be what you want but its a relatively painless work around. Been using it for years.0
