i used to work with P25 tethered with Powerbook 1.67G 2G ram, and i'm very satisifed with the photo transfering speed, but after moving to P30, i found that the transfering speed is pretty slow, so i just wonder if there's some notable transfer speed improvement if i move to macbook pro.

    any suggesion will be appreciated.

They talk about 3.7.4 and tethered in this post: http://forum.phaseone.com/viewtopic.php?t=1736 regarding capture speed and P21/P30/P45. The speed of 3.7.4 and macbook pro looks very promising also.

What file format are you shooting ? 3.0 compat, IIQ Raw Large,IIQ Raw Small.

Try shooting IIQ Raw Small ,have the energy saver in the system prefs set for high performance, uncheck put HD to sleep whenever possible. On my Powerbook & MBP I run a lean system only App that I need (C1 Pro,CS2 ,Leaf Capture, Flexcolor,Cocktail,Toast,Transmit,EyeOne, Office, Chronosync) . On a 100 gig drive I have 72 gigs free. The Powerbook has a 7200 rpm,& THE MBP 5400 RPM.
