On exporting from C1 my watermark is lost. Is there something I'm missing?

I think you should explain in more detail what you are doing. In this way we are second guessing.

What do you mean "is lost"? Was it there before? Did you import an image with watermark and now it's gone?

In general, the watermark in C1 is defined in your output recipe, tab 'watermark'. Do you have a recipe selected that doesn't have a watermark?

    Yes to all those questions.

I import and have the "watermark" added automatically to all images. However, when exporting the "watermark" tab is not available. Just Basic, Adjustments and Metadata. Nowhere can I find how to add it.

OK, where are you looking for the watermark option? Are you looking in output recipe tab?

By the way, which version of C1 are you using (always good to state in your opening post, version number and type (DB, Pro, Sony)?

    OK - C1 Pro8 Vers 8.1.1

They are set in the "process recipes" under watermark. Everything else seems to work i.e. output naming, output location and file choice.

For me it works quite nicely.

What kind of watermark do you use? Text or picture? What is the opacity of the watermark? It may be there but just hard to see? What is the position of the watermark?

Can you show a screen print of the watermark settings of your recipe?

Text only - Opacity 56 - bottom right corner.

Struggling to add screen shot into this post!!!

You would have to host the screen capture somewhere and post a link.

Are you using Export or Process?

Process should work. Export I am less certain about as I have never used it in anger as I suspect it's primary intent is to export to another application - in which case a watermark might not be desirable anyway ..... Export does not offer the Watermark control tab that Process recipes have.

Are you running a single recipe or are multiple recipes active?

You should get what you see on the screen. The only odd thing I can think of relates to scaling if you are resizing and fixed pixel size fonts might not be scalable to the larger or smaller size. So if you are going larger the watermark might be there but so small it's not easily visible. That would be VERY extreme though, in my experience.

ETA: Re-reading the earlier post I see it was Export in use. I think you need Process to get the watermark.

Traveller858: suggest you check your pixel/points setting on the watermark tab. May be set so small you cannot see the watermark.

Thank you to everyone that has offered help on this topic. I have now resolved (at least I seem to have done) the issue.

    Solution -

I have set up specific recipes for exporting images (including watermarks) to selected folders i.e. print, Flickr, Wordpress etc. All fairly normal you may say, but here is the crux of the solution. I now only press "process" at the bottom of screen and all images get sent off to their intended folder.

NOTHING to do with EXPORTING. As with most new applications you just have to get your head around it's own terminology.

C1 is, without doubt, my preferred application and I feel so pleased that Apple decided to stop supporting Aperture so that I have the opportunity to use this quality software.

Powerful once discovered and one gets one's head around it.

    I like it too ...
