Filters don't match results

I have a new catalog with 1842 images which I imported from Lightroom. Selecting "All Images" under Catalog Collections and in the Filters section under the Rating sub-category I see:
None: 46
1Star: 1044
2Star: 570
3Star: 37
4Star: 58
5Star: 87

Problem is when I select one of these e.g. 5Star, only 16 images are shown, not 87. Similar for all the ratings - less images than the count indicates.

I must be dong something wrong?

    It could be that you have not only your 5 stars request, but also an other filter. To check this, click on the "x" in the filter field "search".

    I found the problem - I had one of the Global Filters active -"Always Hide processed TIFF files".
