This is very untypical. I suggest you create a support case to have Phase One walk you through. When working with CO8, I think you should best be using the latest release.

Thank you for your much appreciated reply - unfortunately the support function is still not working correctly 😲
I did also contact Phase One by FaceBook to let them know !

    Hi,
I had a similar problem a few weeks ago: I could not read from the SD-card in my Nikon D800 (attached with USB3-cable to Macbook Pro retina early 2013), nor could I use tethered shooting in Capture One. (8.3.3.23). After using 'Image Capture' (program within OSX) everything worked well!
    regards, Michel

Thank you for your kind reply Michel,

As I am shooting jewellery and am literally ' painting with light ' with a fill-in hand mirror (up inside the light tent) at the moment of exposure (to get the stones to fire), I really need to shoot tethered into C1 for instant visual feedback on highlights and any colour shifts in the highlights.

Unfortunately selecting the support function on " my pages " is still not working correctly from my Safari V9 browser. I have been in contact with Phase One on Facebook regarding this issue - now waiting to see if there is a solution ?

Meanwhile, there appears (most evidently) to be stability issues with OS X 10.10.5 and C1 V8 - what did surprise me was that one is able to upgrade from OS X 10.10.5 - then on reading the accompanying Phase One release notes, I noted that it is not recommended to use C1 V8 with Yosemite ?

At least V8.0 works on tethered shooting the Nikon DSLR.
It did however crash, repeatedly when attempting to import large Tiff files for some post-production work.

I can imagine in the fullness of time that Phase One will sort it out, its just not being able to access the Tech Support that is of concern at present.

    Kind Regards,
    Richard

This is not supported or as it is also called 'by design'.
