1Ds Mark III Color Saturation? Help!!!
Sorry to bring this up again in another thread but I'm stuck. No solution from Phase yet.
I am finding images from my Canon 1Ds Mark III over saturated in 4.5.2. Is anyone else running into this? What am I doing wrong? I'm about to process my first job shot into 4.5 and I'm actually considering giving up and going back to 3.7 to make sure I get more realistic color rendition.
Here's what I emailed Phase. Please, someone else shooting with the Mark III into 4.5 tell me how it's working for you.

Hello Phase
I've had another look at this issue today.
I'm looking at copies of the same 1Ds Mark III RAW file in both 3.7 and 4.5 side by side on a single calibrated Apple Cinema Display. All adjustments are zeroed. I'm using the same generic 1Ds Mark III .icc profile setting in both softwares. The image in 4.5 is noticeably more/over saturated.
When I do this same comparison with a RAW file shot with my 1Ds Mark II the images appear virtually the same in either software, as I would expect.
I agree with your last message. They should appear the same as should the Mark III files but they don't. The reason I did the comparison was because the Mark III files are all appearing overly saturated. Even my client pointed it out. A burgundy/red table cloth was coming up flaming red. I don't think this has anything to do with the viewing magnification.
Any other ideas? Could the supplied "Generic 1Ds Mark III .icc profiles" be different from 3.7 to 4.5? Is it a camera firmware issue?
I don't want to have to go into every image and fix color on shots that were very straight forward particularly when this didn't seem to be an issue with my older camera and software.
I look forward to your thoughts.
Thanks again.

You are not the only one with this problem I am H20 & P30 user, in capture 3 the image you see is what you get when processed and viewed in photoshop. The image in capture 4 has much more contrast/saturation. When it is processed it is looks desaturated. If you compare your processed capture 3 image and processed capture 4 image you will find that the capture 3 has much better and more acceptable saturation.
I have talked to Phase about this and I was told that I was the only one to complain now there is two of us.
I have gone back to capture 3 and will not use capture 4 till they have sorted this problem out.

Have you experimented with your computer's monitor profile (i.e. selected another and let CO4.x generated fresh preview files).
Have you saturation problems with the same images on different computers?
Have you saturation problems with images of different cameras in the same computer?0 -
I ran into this same issue shooting tethered on a job over the weekend. I was jumping back between 4 and 3.7.9 and getting pretty frustrated along the way. Still fighting the software and still not digging anything about 4 at all. 😡 0 -
Is this the same or similar issue?
