Proxy Creation Failed
I'm getting an error when I try to open ARW raw files from a Sony a6000.
"Unable to create proxy, for image C:\Users\User\Desktop\DSC00084.ARW. The image file may be damaged or otherwise unable to load."
What does this mean.
After a short time, I am able to click on the images and they appear to render correctly. Does this message mean anything is wrong?
I'm running Windows 10 Pro 64bit
Capture One Express for Sony 8.3.3 64Bit

When proxy creation fails, often the original file is damaged. It appears that after some time the proxy is created anyway and all is fine. Hard to say what causes this without a sample file, but even with one example, it can be hard.
If it occurs more often I suggest to contact support on this. You can also post an image file if you like forum members to respond.0 -
Ok thank you for the reply. I deleted the files and copied them again from my camera. This time when I imported them into Capture One, they imported without errors. Maybe the files were corrupted somehow when I copied them the first time. 0 -
This problem is still occurring, Now worse than ever. Not only is it problematic to work with the files, I cannot even export them after applying adjustments, but that may be a separate issue for another thread. I save 5 images that I was trying to work with to this folder.
Please someone help.
I doubt the files are corrupted, they open perfectly fine with Sony's Image Data Converter and I have no problems editing them and exporting changes with that software.
I'm using the latest Capture One Express for Sony for Windows 64bit 8.3.4.19 .0 -

I would suggest that you should create a Support Case and obtain official support. That would probably be helpful for you AND the Capture One support team who should be able to identify what is going on with your installation.
