First Post - Can't empty trash
Good day,
this is my first post in this forum. I am new to Capture One, coming from Lightroom.
This is my situation.
I created a new catalog (not some, but my main-catalog), where I have deleted some files, while re-structuring, which are now in the trash bin. For sure I did something wrong over time, but I can't figure it out. Nevertheless I have 12 files in my bin, which I can't delete, because they are gone on HDD but existing in the database of the catalog...
Since I am german, I can only try to translate as good as possible. However it is possible that the englisch message might be called a wee bit different. So " the file is either not available, not supported or corrupt.."
What I would like is to clean up the database, but this was somehow unsuccessful.
Any idea how I can clean my catalog without starting from scratch? I qould be grateful.
The search function showed several results for corrupt, but they are more relateed to the import of files, as I understood it.
Thanks
Arne

I'm on a Mac, so there is a possibility that your Windows system may be different. But if I select an image in the trash that is not actually available on disk, and press my delete key, I get a message that says "Do you want to remove [image name] from the catalog? This image can't be deleted because it is offline. If you want to delete the image from disk, locate the file."
That seems to me to offer what you want.

Thanks Ian3,
I just tried that. The message that I get is the deletion failed. Nevertheless thank you.
What else could I do?
I tried meanwhile the function "check session or catalog". I got an error, which was repaired. An additional opening of the catalog showed still the same behaviour. I assume I try the wrong things..0 -
Ok,
I found a solution myself. For everybody who has ever misfortune to be in the same situation it works like following.
1) Select in CO the trash bin
2) Select a file, where the link is lost (LMB)
3) Right-click (RMB) on a link and allocate a picture. (Since I intend to delete this link, make a copy of any RAW file on a temporary place)
4) The file in CO is "active" again
5) Delete the file
6) Done0
