Camera not seen in C1v9
Hello again all!
Hasselblad 500C/M with a H20 back.
I have a 'new' second hand macbook pro, 2011 model, with latest OSX El Capitan & C1 v9
I have also purchased the Lindy firewire repeater -http://www.lindy.co.uk/usb-firewire-c4/3-port-firewire-800-repeater-hub-p945
The thing is that my computer still can't see the camera!
What am I doing wrong? What should I be doing???
I have installed the leaf drivers, rebooted my Mac, selected the Hasselblad 500 series in the list.
Plugged camera in then started C1v9 & also tried starting C1v9 then plugging in the camera.
Checked the cable on the camera from flash sync to C on back.
All lights are green on the back.
I've raised a support ticket, but I doubt they work over the weekend. Would love to get this working today!!!
Any help really appreciated!
Thanks from Annette

PS. I've spent all day trying as many different things as I can think of!
I've got my iMac on as well as my macbook pro, and the camera is not seen on the iMac either with the repeater or without the repeater.
I have had the H20 working before on this iMac, and so I am very stuck as to why it won't work.
Is there something I am missing? Something I am forgetting to do? Something in settings I need to check?
What are known problems to stop a H20 working, but still show up Green lights with & without a repeater on an iMac?
Please can anyone help!? Feeling very frustrated and really want to use the camera to take some nice photos!

Hi Annette,
Are you saying that you were able to work with Capture One and your Hasselblad back? As far as I know Phase One does not support other medium format cameras rather their own.

Yes, Annette. It is well known that the competition between the medium format camera makers results in a situation where Capture One should be used if you have a Phase One/Mamiya back, and Phocus if you work with a Hasselblad. Phocus cannot read the Phase One files either....
The only way is to convert the files into .dng.0 -
Yeah, not sure how you ever had the Hasselblad working before, unlikely with CaptureOne. With the computer itself, sure, you can check the system profiler (Apple Menu, press alt-key and then "System Information") whether you see your camera under "FireWire" connected to the computer. If not and since you've tried that on two computers, it could either be the FireWire cable or the port on the camera that's busted.
As far as CaptureOne seeing the camera; that is actively prohibited by design since PhaseOne does not want to support the Medium Format competition. If you ever had that working before, it must have been a glitch where C1 mistakenly recognized the camera as being from another manufacturer. Here is the official list of supported cameras/files: . As you can see, while Pentax is supported in general, any of their Medium Format offerings are not on that list. - A shame really, but that's a discussion for another time.0 -
First the H20 is a PhaseOne back, not hasselblad. Yes it has a H mount. But still produced by PhaseOne.
PhaseOne had Digital Backs before Hasselblad had a digital back. If you read the history there was a rift between Hasselblad and PhaseOne/Mamiya/Leaf when Hasselblad came out with the H3D, which locked out other Backs, and have been that way until Hasselblad came out with th H4X, H5X bodies which went back to allow 3rd party back and film backs to be used again.
PhaseOne does not support some of their old backs anymore, or early Leaf backs before the merger. So it might be just the latest CO9 dropped support for such an old back. I know my old Leaf Veleo22 only works with "Leaf Capture".
(Pause while I check something)
YES the H20 should be fully supported under CO9, see

Is the firewire repeater powered? If not that could be the problem.
The Firewire 800 to 400 cable good? I believe the MacBook Pro would be FW800 and the H20 would only be FW400 at that time, check the cable?
Some some thoughts.
