Yes. To get Capture One and Media Pro to "talk" with one another you'll need to use sessions in C1. That will allow you to view adjustments made in in Capture One 7 and soon version 9.

The image management principles demonstrated in the videos haven't changed since iView Media Pro. After acquiring the product Phase One added:

    • The option to use Capture One raw rendering

    • Manage XMP sidecars (when you move, delete, rename parent raw files)

    • Larger catalog sizes (> old 2GB limit)

    • Dark interface like Aperture/Lightroom, etc

    • Updated camera support

    • Usual bug fixes

From what I can see nothing's new since those videos were published.

    Thanks, Robert.

I already use sessions. That was one reason why I was interested in trying Media Pro for cataloguing, rather than putting everything in a catalogue in C1.

So are you saying that MP will reflect adjustments I have made with versions of C1 up to v7 (I go all the way back to v4) but not those I have made in v8 and v9?

Yeah Media Pro never got updated to work with v8 but the current (expired) version 1.6 beta works with Capture One 9.

Phase One has to update Media Pro every time there's a update in Capture One but sadly that's hasn't been happening. They really need to be in sync with updates just like Adobe does with Photoshop, ACR, Lightroom and their DNG Converter. Ironically Media Pro works best if you use Adobe products 🤓 .

Let's hope for the 1.6 release soon, then.
