Mac Pro Upgrade to dual CPU?

I run CO on a Mac Pro with a single Xeon X5689 (6-core 3.46GHz). I am trying to decide if I would see noticeable improvement in performance with CO if I was to buy a dual socket tray and add another X5690.

Has anyone else done the same and can speak to the results?
