Catalog re-buiding
Hi everyone, sorry if that question been raised before but I need a help.
I have been using C1 Pro 8,9 & now 10 on my Macbook. Every time I was importing my pictures into "Catalog" and it was growing in size.
I realize a bit late that I could place my imported originals into remote disk drive and "Catalog" itself would not be growing in size as such.
But I did not know it before and now wish to transfer all my original files from "Catalog" into remote drive.
Is there a way to do it and keep all files adjustments and collection arrangement?
Thank you!

Being a former Aperture user I like the managed catalog idea. With Capture One I am currently in the process of moving my files out of Capture One to a referenced folder structure. My goal is to have the catalog reside on an SSD. I can't afford an SSD large enough to hold a catalog containing all my images. With a referenced catalog the catalog file is significantly smaller. If you use a laptop this will allow you to travel without the external drive. You can work and adjust without the originals. You just can't export until the originals are connected. Pretty awesome stuff.
It is very easy. Go to the "Library" icon. Then in the Folders area click the + sign and navigate to where you want the main folder to reside, name it and click add. Then either right click on that folder or hit the + again and add your next folder. Once you have the folders set up that will hold all your images you are ready to move them.
Go to the User Collections area and highlight the pictures you want to move, then drag them to the folder you want to store them in. In the Folders area you will see the little number next to catalog go down as you do this. Repeat this process until all your files are in the folders.
If you go to your hard drive you will find the pictures and sidecar files in those folders.
I highly suggest you watch the Webinar "Getting Started" And "working with catalogs". These can be found on YouTube on the PhaseOne channel.0 -
Thank you very much indeed!
I will try it tonight.0
