Colour coded search criteria
From 3-weeks travelling in Scandinavia, I have one folder with 7500+ images in it.
I have an editing system whereby I mark the processed pictures RED and then batch output them.
Once outputted, I change their colour coding to ORANGE so that I can continue editing the rest.
Last night I did just that - but when I open my folder today it tells me there are many RED coded
images (there should be none!) but it 'finds' none of them. How can I clear this to zero?
(Also, how can I attach a screen grab image to here?)

It's a Catalogue0 -
First step, do a verification, File menu, Verify catalog
Also check View menu, Global filters. With a global filter you can suppress a certain file type but it is still counted in the Filters tool.0 -

Thank you so very much - the verification has come back as OK and the View Menu shows all types unticked. In other words, as defaulted, no changes have been made to that ever.
I have only just bought the PRO version after using Express for 2 months, so I am very new to this and really appreciate your help!0 -
You're welcome. Unfortunately I ran out of options. Maybe another user chimes in and/or you contact support and open a case:

Thanks for all your input. It will be a while before I find my feet fully in C1; I am loving it, but the user interface will need some getting used to.
If anybody else has ideas how I can clear this search area to correctly reflect 0, please let me know!0 -
When you were editing did you create any variants of images?
Multiple versions of the same image?

Yes I did make some B&W variants but if those were also coded red, then they should have been picked up in the search and values and show up, surely?0 -

Yes and no.
If the current Primary variant and a child variant have different values set (in this case the Colour Tag) a search for a single colour would display whichever of the variants had that colour associated with it.
if they both have the same tag and the Image is not current in "Expanded" mode you would only see the Primary variant with a symbol indicating that there are additional variants in the top left corner of the thumbnail.
Expand it and you should see all variants that fit the search or filter(s).
In the search window associated with the Browser the count (x/xxxx) should show you the total number of variants FOUND but they may not all be displayed unless expanded. In the Image drop down menu there are some controls to Expand and Collapse all stacked variants which may help you here.
You may have a different challenge but this seems a likely candidate at the moment and is quick and easy to check so it's a good place to start. However you do need to check whether you have any other searches and/or filters applied at the same time. If you so and they would not include any variants still tagged RED, then it might explain what you are seeing.
If that check does not show anything useful for diagnosis then we will need to think again.
The filter counts are dynamic. However if anything goes awry (a possibility) then closing and re-opening the session (or catalogue I assume - I don't use catalogues much) should recalculate the numbers.
HTH.

Thank you very much Grant
I think things HAVE gone rather awry 🙄 and I have closed and reopened several times, cleared the search criteria etc etc but it still comes up like that. Not the end of the world... I'll just ignore it for now and carry boldly on.0 -

What happens if you set up a search and use the supplied by default colour filter option in there? Does that produce different results?
Alternatively using the Advanced Search, skip the colour tag filters in the search and search just on the Colour Tag field. Does that produce different results?
